Amon The Sign is a Spanish Gothic Dark band mixing Rock Goth, Indus, Darkwave and Doom founded in 2021 by Vicente Payá and Amón Lopez in Mallorca. The idea of this side-project was born with the idea of composing songs that have no place in their main group Golgotha (doom metal). Quickly, Vicente Payá composed 10 instrumentals, and Amón Lopez wrote the lyrics. Thus was born in December 2021 the first LP Hunger For Darkness
A mix of Darkwave, industrial and doom metal
In December of the same year (2021), the LP was presented at “La Movida” in Mallorca, with guest musicians such as Marisa Marquez (who had already been invited to do the female vocals on the songs Under The Shadows, Waiting into Darkness, In The Room and Heartbeat on the LP), Leoben Connoy (synths, guitars) and Camilo (guitars), with Vicente on bass for said concert.
After the presentation concert, Vicente Payá leaves the bass to recover the guitar, and Zzor joins the group as the new bass player. Leoben Connoy and Marisa Marisa are an integral part of the group, thus leaving the definitive line-up assembled. With the new line-up, the band rework the themes of the LP, adding keyboards and vocals, and from mid-2022 the band performs at Café Es Gremi, Intergalactic Bar and they close the year at the beginning of December by sharing the stage in the main hall of Es Gremi with another Majorcan group, Psideralica
